I don't know about you guys, but back in the day my iPod was MY LIFE. Seriously, nothing says angsty teenager more than a girl walking down the hallway with her headphones blaring and a chip on her shoulder. I was usually blasting some sort of overly dramatic emo band who said all the right things about heartbreak. Ridiculous or not, those were some of the best times of my life—it's nice to be able to use age and hormones as an excuse for attitude (I can't get away with that as much anymore).
I never had an iPod Shuffle, but I did have both the iPod Nano First Generation (black) and Fourth Generation (yellow). I still have both to this day, but the First Generation will only play if it's connected to a charger and the Fourth Generation is far less sentimental to me—I have decent throwback songs on there, but NOTHING like my first iPod.
Do you guys remember Limewire? My God, I gave my family's PC so many viruses from illegally downloading music that we finally had to go ahead and get a new one. Ah, those were the days, my friends, the days! Anyway, the purpose of all this nostalgia is because Apple has finally decided to discontinue both the Shuffle and Nano as of yesterday (meaning, you'll basically have to fight to the death on eBay if you want to get your hands on one). As per popular tech and gadget site, Tech Crunch—
“Today, we are simplifying our iPod lineup with two models of iPod touch now with double the capacity starting at just $199 and we are discontinuing the iPod shuffle and iPod nano,' said an Apple spokesperson in a statement."
