How long has it been that we've mentioned this rumored Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight? At this point, I just think the two have figured out the payout for each, set a date, and are just using their A+ self-promotional skills to keep people talking about it. But that's just me.
As for the reality, no one knows if, when or how the bout would go down. Hell, we don't even know if it were to be a boxing match or an MMA fight—although, let's be honest, if it happens, boxing is what it will be.
While we all wait in anticipation, Conor McGregor himself may have just hinted towards a possible outcome, posting a video on his Instagam account sparring in a boxing ring.
Now, that doesn't necessarily mean the fight is on and that Floyd Mayweather and McGregor are bound to "get it on," but it seems more than just a tease from the current UFC Lightweight Champion.
Following the video of him sparring, McGregor also posted a more cryptic message, which sure seems as if he's warning all those haters and doubters out there that, yeah, he can take down a former undefeated boxing legend.
Again, none of this is to claim the fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr. is definitely on, but it sure seems like a sign that things are moving in the right direction.
From all the trash talk between the two—like Mayweather calling out McGregor's net worth and then going after UFC President Dana White, too—the powers that be needs to make this fight happen since, at this moment, it might be the most anticipated in the past 25 years.
