Batman Battles Stephen King's Pennywise In This Creepy AF Fan Trailer (And It's Awesome)

On the surface, it’s a ridiculous idea. How do you take the Batman — arguably one of the most popular superhero characters in the world — and pit him against Stephen King’s Pennywise the Clown from the film It (which happens to be the No. 1 film in the world at the moment)? It’s an absurd notion, right? Yet somehow YouTube user Adeel Of Steel has managed to pull together a fan-made trailer that makes you believe it’s possible.

For anyone who hasn’t experienced a fan trailer before, the idea is that a creative editor (and Adeel refers to himself as a graphic artist/video producer) will come up with a concept that intrigues them, and then turn to a number of films to see what footage would be properly applied to the idea he has in mind. Then (this is particularly true of the good editors, and he is one of them) they will start to grab snippets from those films and begin tying them together to create something that is (hopefully) unique.

So, what we’ve got with “Batman vs. Pennywise” is Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Bill Skarsgard as It/Pennywise. And, from what we can tell, footage is effectively taken from Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, It and Suicide Squad. And, not just satisfied with taking the footage as it was, Adeel has played with the colors, in certain instances adding a red tint to things that increases the creep factor and goes a long way from making you look at the clips and think, “That scene is from this, that scene is from that" to, "That's cool!"

Judge for yourself whether or not this concept works for you. Our view is that, as skeptical as we were at the start, seeing Batman and Pennywise fighting each other would be — and is in this trailer — extremely cool.
