'Jumanji' Co-Stars Dwayne Johnson And Kevin Hart Reveal The Recipe To Their Success In Hollywood

While we can all agree that the original 1995 Jumanji film that starred the late Robin Williams will forever be one the greatest childhood movies ever made, the remake of the film looks pretty great, too! Entitled Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle, the cast is seriously jam-packed with a ton of heavy-hitters which include Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Jack Black.

For those who might doubt that, just remember the first trailer to Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle, which shows an action-packed story. Check it out below as a refresher.

We suspect that no matter how good the film ends up being (permitting this trailer is an accurate indication) people will continue to make comparisons to the original. Let's just hope it does Williams' legacy justice — unlike Johnny Depp did for Gene Wilder with the remake of Willy Wonka. God, that was such a cinematic travesty. If you're not going to remake a movie well, please Hollywood, don't do it at all! Sincerely, every movie goer everywhere.

Anyway, with Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle hitting theaters on December 20, 2017 — yes, next Wednesday... finally! — there's been a lot of press around the release. Naturally, the two biggest stars, the aforementioned Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Kevin Hart, are at the center of all that pub. For both men, it's been a crazy ride to get to where they're at, with "The Rock" coming in No. 2 on Forbes' highest-earning actors for 2017, and Hart landing No. 1 on the magazine's highest-paid comedians in 2016! But, as we mentioned, the journey hasn't been the easiest for either one of them.

So, how did both Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Kevin Hart reach such heights? The two spoke to Vanity Fair about their recipe to success in Hollywood.

Johnson: “It’s hard work and gratitude,” Johnson told Vanity Fair at the Jumanji premiere Monday, held at the historic T.C.L. Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. “You have to be focused, and you don’t come to the table with an ego. Once you reach a level of success, it’s about never taking anything for granted and showing gratitude. I am lucky to surround myself with smart people who are willing to take risks and willing to fail with me. I don’t have all the answers, and they’ve helped me. You also have to believe in yourself. When you start doubting yourself and start being someone else, things won’t work.”

Hart: "The key to my success has been hard work and determination. It’s really about working hard for what I want, and to constantly grow and get to new levels in the business,” Hart explained to Vanity Fair on the red carpet. “I have been very fortunate to work with amazing people, studios, and directors to back my ideas. So hopefully with the longevity of my career, I can continue to put myself in these situations and find great projects. The goal is to create content for the world, and it’s an amazing goal to have. You have to do things in baby steps, and then the work gets accomplished. But you always have to work hard to get there.”

That's not only great advice in terms of the two actors' rise to Hollywood fame, success and fortune, but, in general, rules that people should apply in their own lives. After all, hard work, gratitude and determination are traits that someone who's working a dead end job and making ends meat can apply and, who knows, may just wind up being successful in what they're really passionate about.

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle will be hitting theaters on Wednesday, December 20, 2016. Awesome, right in time for the holidays! Nothing like a little holiday action with a side of nostalgia to really make people happy.
