Metallica, Jimmy Fallon And The Roots Played 'Enter Sandman' With Classroom Instruments And It Still Kicked Serious Ass

Metallica is one of the hardest-rocking metal bands ever, but they took a break from the flames and power chords to play one of their most famous songs, "Enter Sandman", with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots last night on The Tonight Show—and it kicked so much ass.

Fallon has done this plenty of times in the past with various celebs, but there's something a little more beautiful and unique when he gets a metal band to join a hip hop group together to play on classroom instruments.

Former New York Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera—who used to scare opponents by entering from the bullpen to Metallica's "Enter Sandman"—has to be proud of this version, too.
