Naked Gym Classes Are Available In NYC And It's Time To Work Those Glutes In Your Birthday Suit

We're less than two weeks into the year, folks, and we've already discovered the most ridiculous (read: unsanitary) health and fitness trend on the market — naked gym classes. Yep, you read that correctly! If you happen to reside in NYC you can go work those glutes in your birthday suit. To be perfectly honest, we don't know how to feel about it! On the one hand, we'd save a ton of money on gym apparel on the other hand, we're working out F'in naked in front of total strangers.

According to the New York Daily News these classes are being offered by Hanson Fitness, a high-end fitness company that boasts celebrity clientele like Rihanna and Tom Cruise. Ah, it all makes sense now, if we looked like Rihanna, we'd work out naked too — yes, we realize she's a woman, you get the point!

The initial naked gym class took place on January 5, 2018 advertised as "New Year, Nude You". Pretty freakin' catchy, huh? They offered three sessions: one mixed, one for men, and one for women. In a press release the company explained the philosophy behind working out naked:

" The class will be a total body workout that uses your body weight as resistance to work the glute, butt, legs and core — making you look and feel good naked."

OK, yeah, we get that! Perhaps this isn't as strange as we initially thought. Who knows? Maybe working out naked is a great fitness motivator. Our advice? Double-up on the deodorant and don't take it too seriously! You know when you're nervous and people suggest that you "picture everyone in the room in their underwear"? Yeah, well, it's like that — except everyone will be butt-ass naked.

If you're interested in a little naked workout, the gym is located in SoHo (42 Wooster St, New York, N.Y., 10012).
