If there's one thing we know for certain about the future of entertainment, it's that Netflix original movies are going to blow box office hits out the water! Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but within in the next couple of years, we foresee movie theaters being as obsolete as, well, print media. It's not that we don't love going to the movies, we do! It's just that between the ticket prices and crowds, why not just stay home, order in, and enjoy kickass movies without the hassle?
At this time, Netflix has seen huge success with original content like Stranger Things, Orange is the New Black, 13 Reasons Why and Grace and Frankie — that's only naming a few! The list could go on and on. It's clear that they've mastered TV, so, why not try their hand at movies? Well, it seems that's exactly the plan this year. Currently, there's 11 Netflix original movies coming in 2018, that we know of! We plan to update this list as we get further into the year.
Two of the confirmed Netflix originals don't have trailers just yet! The first being, Hold the Dark, starring Alexander Skarsgård, Riley Keough, James Bloor, James Badge Dale and Jeffrey Wright. That will be released on June 1, 2018. The second, The Angel starring Marwan Kenzari and Toby Kebbell will be available to stream come June 15, 2018. Even without trailers, the casts alone are enough to make us want to watch! It's clear that Netflix can reel in the A-listers, that's for sure.
