With over 2 million Instagram followers, the name Pia Muehlenbeck is one that plenty of people around the world know. After all, the brunette beauty went from uber smartypants in college, graduating with honors, to a lawyer to what she is now — one of the most popular Instagram models on the planet!
But, don't think that her journey to the top has been all that expected. In fact, after talking with Pia about how she's gone from the courtroom to documenting her life through pictures and videos, it was a random twist of fate, as she wasn't really out searching to become the star that she is today.
As a health and fitness buff, Pia Muehlenbeck was just looking to sell some yoga mats in her spare time when she was a lawyer. Little did she know that her hobby would bring her such fame, with the model explaining how her Instagram account helped lead to more sales and, you got it, a bigger audience.
Now Pia influences millions from her Instagram account, a YouTube channel that her and her fiance post videos together on, and even started her own gym apparel line called SLINKII. Talk about getting the most out of life, huh?
Blending beauty, brains and lots of talent into a small package, Pia Muehlenbeck told us the seven things that she wants you to know. Somehow, we now feel like we know her so much better.
I fell in to Instagram almost by accident; my aim initially was to sell my eco-friendly yoga mats. I ran out of money so I had to post photos on my Instagram, hoping my friends would buy my mats. As it happened, one of my friends owned a yoga studio, and bought 100 mats. From that point, I was up and running, and realized that Instagram could be a "big thing," so I started posting. Within a year, my account had grown to one million followers.
I used to be a lawyer, I graduated Law with First Class Honors.
I moved from Germany to Australia when I was eight and couldn’t speak a word of English.
I once saw Lady Gaga play a tiny gig before she was famous, I had no idea who she was, and I couldn’t hear very well, so I left after the third song. Kind of regret that now.
I can recite the entire Harry Potter script. I’m a super fan. I even have a wand instead of a remote control that can change the TV channels.
I own over 300 bikinis.
I live in Sydney now, but when I lived in the Gold Coast, we had wild full size Water Dragons wandering our garden every day. It was super cool. I felt like I was living in Jurassic Park!
