In a statement issued on the site, they say, ''No matter who you are, if a photograph, video, or digital image of you in a state of nudity, sexual excitement, or engaged in any act of sexual conduct, is posted or linked to on reddit without your permission, it is prohibited on reddit.'
Better late than never, eh reddit?
The move comes six whole months after the infamous 'Fappening,' where hundreds of nude photos of A-list celebs like Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Kaley Cuoco were leaked online. Reddit were painfully slow to react (not that you're complaining) but now they've finally decided to clean up their act.
Now before everyone starts kicking off about censorship and the world's rights to look at boobs, let's look at the simple facts:
If you post a naked picture online that isn't of you and the naked person in question hasn't given consent, it's a total dick move.
And the subject of your photo has got every right to get in touch with reddit and have it taken down. And, as of March, they can do just that. Which is obviously great news for victims of revenge porn and the like.
That being said, Reddit is absolutely not clamping down on nudity altogether (unlike Google, who just announced the ban on nudes from its Blogger service).
Reddit doesn't care how explicit your photos are, as long as the subject of the photo is alright with it.
And, quite frankly, we think that's fair enough.
So go wild, snap away, fill your boots. But remember this - just because you can show your hairy ballsack on the internet doesn't mean you should.
