The SI Swimsuit Issue is always one of the most anticipated magazines each and every year. Showcasing some of the most beautiful women on the planet — like Nina Agdal, Emily Ratajkowski, Kate Upton, Brooklyn Decker and Hannah Jeter, among others — as you might expect, the 2018 edition is surely going to be just as great as the previous ones that we've all loved since day one!
After we told you last week that Alexis Ren was finally selected to be showcased in next year's magazine, we have more good news: a 23-year-old, plus-sized model from Australia named Kate Wasley is part of the rookie class, too. And, boy oh boy, are we big fans of hers.
As one of the curvier models that the SI Swimsuit Issue has featured — remember, Ashley Graham stole the cover of this past year's issue — Kate has all the goods that make us crush on her hard! Seriously, one look at those eyes and a man's heart will melt really quick. That's not to mention all the other good stuff she's got going on. Point blank: Kate Wasley's an absolute 10!
Posing alongside fellow SI Swimsuit rookie, Aussie model and business partner, Georgia Gibbs, Kate Wasley seem more than thrilled to be part of the SI Swimsuit Issue family, with Kate telling SI.com that they're, "beyond excited to be apart of the SI family. To be a part of something so iconic that is so inclusive of race, size and shape is truly a dream come true!"
Together, the two Aussies created a company called Any BODY, which is a project and blog celebrating the many shapes and sizes of women. Here's what they had to say about the venture, per SI.com:
"It's for anyone that's ever felt insecure because they're 'too thin,' or 'too fat,' have rolls, scars, cellulite or stretch marks," explained Kate. "It's for anyone that's ever been told they would be beautiful if they only lost weight."
"Whether you are a six or a sixteen, above, below or in between, we believe you are unique and uniqueness is so beautiful in a world of so much similarity," Georgia says on the site.
Sexy, smart and passionate, that's just one of the many reasons why we're excited to see Kate Wasley and her pal Georgia Gibbs part of the SI Swimsuit family. Congrats, ladies!
