This remake, to be directed by Beauty And The Beast’s Bill Condon and written by David Koepp, is scheduled for release on Valentine’s Day 2019 (aw, isn’t that cute?). The original (1935) is a direct sequel to 1931’s Frankenstein. Henry Frankenstein (Colin Clive) is forced by the monster he created (played by the returning Boris Karloff) to make him a resurrected from the dead bride (Elsa Lanchester). Frankie is overjoyed, until the wench wants nothing to do with him and he freaks out. How much of this will survive in the new version is unknown, but it will obviously take place in the present.
