It's become sort of weird Hollywood folklore that The Simpsons are able to predict the future. Yep, you read that correctly. A cartoon based on an odd-ball family of yellow people is the world's greatest hope for survival. In fact, here at FHM, we've rounded up the 10 times that The Simpsons made it pretty freakin' hard to deny that this "folklore" may just be the real deal.
This time, there's no denying that Homer and the gang accurately predicted Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox. For those of you who don't keep up with business news. No worries, we'll fill you in real quick. As per The New York Times, the Walt Disney Company said Thursday that it had reached a deal to buy most of 21st Century Fox, the empire controlled by Rupert Murdoch, in an all-stock transaction valued at roughly $52.4 billion.
The Simpsons prediction of Disney buying Fox just got a bit crazier with the math at the response below. pic.twitter.com/8axKzysQzj— Darren Rovell (@darrenrovell) December 15, 2017
The first tweet was mind-blowing enough, the fact the dates add up to 2017 is just too crazy for words! How the hell does this keep happening? We were mostly joking around when we said The Simpsons are our greatest hope for the future, but, holy crap — they really might be and you know? That wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. They've been on TV for nearly 30 years, they've become like family to a lot of viewers, so yeah, in The Simpsons we trust.
