These Are The F'ed Up Things That Can Get You Booted From An Airplane

We've told you before about what happens to anyone unruly enough to get booted from an airplane, but, believe it or not, it doesn't take someone screaming like a maniac to get the attention of the crew, leading to being handcuffed and then interrogated for their wild behavior.

In fact, we've found a few f*cked up things that can lead to a person being asked to leave—which, in essence, results in him/her screaming like a maniac and getting handcuffed by cops. These are eight of the strangest.

You Smell Rancid

According to This Is Insider, there's actually a clause in every U.S. airlines contract that allows the flight crew to kick a person off the flight who has a "malodorous condition," unless they're disabled. In essence, if you smell like shit and the person next to you can't stand it, you may be asked to leave.

Wearing Baggy Pants

Remember when everyone used to think Jnco Jeans were cool because they were baggy? Turns out the pants could have gotten you booted from an airplane—and we wish we were joking. In an example of this, the New York Daily News reported a former New Mexico football player named Deshon Marman filed a claim against an airline that kicked him off a plane because his pants were too baggy.

The then-20-year-old claims that he was arrested and straightjacketed — all because of his choice of attire.

According to the complaint, a U.S. Airways employee who was collecting boarding passes "loudly and unpleasantly ordered him to pull up his pants."

Marman's attorney is careful to note that the young black man "was dressed in the style common of youth today, which is to say that he was not revealing any inappropriate parts of his anatomy; the top of his underwear were visible above his loose-fitting pants."

You're "Big Boned"

There's body shaming and then there's the emotional scarring of being told you're too fat to fly on an airplane—which is an actual reason you can get kicked off a plane. No, this isn't because you're pouring into your neighbor's seat, but for safety reasons, with Delta's Contract of Carriage stating that anyone who is "unable to sit in a seat with the seatbelt fastened" is subject to being booted.

Joining The Mile High Club

We all want to take part in a 30,000-foot sexual experience, but, as we all know, the risks may not outweigh the reward. For those who ever get caught, the airline has the right to kick the person(s) from the aircraft. This is a no-brainer, since most public sex is frowned upon.

You Just Won't Shut Up

We all have that friend who seems to talk... and talk... and talk, causing us to tone him/her out and think to ourselves, how annoying is this person being right now? Believe it or not, airlines can actually excuse you for this very reason, as Delta, among other airlines, has a rule that states that "when the passenger’s conduct creates an unreasonable risk of offense or annoyance to other passengers," he/she is subject to getting pulled from their seat.

Wear A Shirt With Swear Words On It

You might be the sweetest person in the world, but if you wear a t-shirt with the band name Thunderpussy on it, there's a decent chance you won't be able to complete that flight. I know, whatever happened to freedom of speech, right? According to Think Progress, this very incident occurred back in 2012, as a woman was sent packing from a plane for wearing a shirt with the word "Fuck" on it.

Say Or Do Anything Involving Bombs

You know that scene from Meet the Parents when Ben Stiller's character gets interrogated and asks why you can't say bomb on an airplane? Yep, that's real, so avoid using this "B" word anytime you're even close to an airport.

You Keep Your Phone On After The Doors Are Shut

Yes, really, this is a reason you can get kicked off a plane. When the flight crew says to put it in Airplane Mode, they mean it—so don't risk it by being caught not doing what they ask. This actually happened to a woman just a few months ago, as she was asked repeatedly to turn her mobile off, refused, and was eventually detained once the flight landed.
