It all starts with some curiosity, then leads to some conversation and, finally, even against your strongest will, exchanging numbers to actually meet up. Such is the life of online dating, and there might not be a more prominent dating app than Tinder.
Building a reputation for being nothing more than a hook-up app that wasn't taken too seriously by singles, Tinder has worked hard to rebrand itself to young professionals, breaking away from the college kids who used it for late-night, drunken exchanges. And with the help of Tinder's resident doctor, Dr. Jessica Carbino, we have the answer as to which people are getting the most matches.
Just like the curiosity that got you to join the app in the first place, here are some of the most right-swiped people on Tinder, per research from the app.
So, what do these people have that you don't in a profile picture, thus, leading to more matches? Well, according to Dr. Carbino, here are some tips to follow, per Cosmo UK.
"Individuals that do well on Tinder are not necessarily the most attractive people in the room," says Dr. Carbino. "The one thing I tell people to include in their profile, is information that will start a conversation."
You're also 14% more likely to get a right swipe if you're smiling with your teeth showing. "You're signaling that you're kind, warm and approachable." Eyes are also important, so don't go OTT on the sunglasses: "Seeing the iris gives us clues as to whether people can be trusted."
In other words, forget the gym selfies and cheesy pickup lines, guys, because it's not the way to get the matches that these people are getting every single day.
