You know that old saying that goes, "women are from Venus and men are from Mars?" Well, that certainly seems to be true by some of the ridiculous things some of you men say to us women.
After years of men telling one another how to talk to women, I thought it might actually be more accurate or beneficial to hear it straight from a woman instead. In an attempt to shed some light on the mystery that is the female masque, here are a few helpful suggestions of what no man should ever say to a women.
No Ex Talk
First of all, no woman wants to be compared to an ex-girlfriend — ever! We don't care if you dated Cindy Crawford or some ratchet, random girl you met on Tinder, we want to pretend that you never had a girlfriend or even had sex before we came into the picture.
I know, this sounds ridiculous, but it's honestly true; women are territorial by nature. Nothing's worse to us than thinking that you're still pining away for your ex and that we're just some consolation prize because things didn't work out with her.
No False Advertising
Don't make empty promises or just straight up say things that you don't have any intentions of ever doing. There's nothing more annoying than a man saying he's going to do all of these sweet things for a woman and never delivers.
If a man finds the need to say random things as a way of gimmicking a woman to stick around, something is wrong with his personal integrity — because that pretty much means you don't actually have any.
The Truth Will Set You Free
It's redundant, but it's a fact that women appreciate truth and kindness. Ask a lady basic things like how their day was, or if there's anything you can do to help them with something. Let a woman vent if she needs to and just listen — even if you're just pretending to care.
Women need some validation that a man cares and is actually paying attention to what's going on in their live and what's important to them. They want to know that they're important to you and that they have your attention and trust.
So, in summary, ditch the old troll pickup lines and resort to some old school chivalry. Trust me, there's a reason every girls favorite movie is The Notebook.
