Everyone has a "date from hell" story, especially now that online dating is a thing. People literally summon strangers from the Internet for the opportunity to wine and dine with them. So is it really all that big of a surprise that a few of them turn out to be, well, crazy AF?

However, there are some dating horror stories that truly blow everyone else's out of the water. We're talking about catfishing to threats of violence to even a chick peeing on some guy's floor (no joke). Thanks to online dating and all the different types of ways singles can meet and hook up, bad dates are on the rise. And if you don't want to end up like the people in the video, it's important to make sure you're not making mistakes that would keep that girl from texting you back.

According to a survey, some first date deal breakers include bad hygiene, talking on the phone, taking selfies, and taking pictures of food (for obvious reasons). Half of the surveyors also said they judge a potential date based on what they posted on social media.

And if you're an old soul at heart, all these changes in the dating realm might seem exhausting. But you can thank technology for that.

"It’s exhilarating to connect with new people, not to mention beneficial for reasons having nothing to do with romance," Niccolò Formai, the head of social media marketing at Badoo, said. "You network for a job. You find a flatmate. Over time you’ll expect that constant flow. People always said that the need for stability would keep commitment alive. But that thinking was based on a world in which you didn’t meet that many people.”
