For those of you who aren't big Zac Efron fans, his claim to fame is the 2006 Disney production, High School Musical. We realize it's commonplace for actors to continually switch up their repertoire, but, man, from Disney to serial killers? Now that's a big jump. Of course, Zac Efron has had many roles since HSM, already proving himself to be a big name in Hollywood, but playing Ted Bundy in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile is sure to be his darkest performance yet. The craziest part? Efron's resemblance to Bundy is uncanny! Seriously, after getting a glimpse of these behind the scenes shots, we thought (for a split second) there has to be some shared genetics there!
Naturally, there's a lot of conscious makeup and wardrobe decisions involved, but we can't recall ever seeing a role casted this well! Efron even manages to nail Bundy's creepy, sly smile. Not to be dramatic, guys, but it's haunting! Before we get into the snaps of Efron, we thought it best to refresh y'all on what Ted Bundy looks like.

Having confessed to 30 homicides in seven states between 1974 and 1978, Bundy is one of America's most infamous serial killers. His story has been told a number of times through film, TV, and literature, but given that Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile will be told in the voice of Bundy's girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer (played by Lily Collins), we know this movie is going to be a groundbreaking portrayal and we can't wait to see if Zac Efron pulls it off — given the shots below, we're almost positive he will!
See what we're saying, guys? It's clear that Efron was born to play this role and we suspect Hollywood critics and audiences alike will agree. We have yet to see a trailer or release date, but let's all hope that this movie drops in 2018! Given all the TV shows we have to wait until 2019 to watch, this would be an awesome distraction.
